Kristo Manila

Thursday, March 15, 2012

Currently working on a piece for "Kristo Manila" exhibit where I was invited by sir Delan of Artery Manila, I wasn't able to join last year's exhibition as I was preparing for my solo show then so I'm glad that sir Delan still invited me for this year's exhibition. "Kristo Manila" is a lenten exhibition which offers viewers reflection and meditation in observance of the Holy Week via the visual arts, this exhibition also aim to raise funds for a good cause. Last year, the well-received show raised funds that resulted in book donation distribution schedules for Aurora A. Quezon Elementary School in Manila and a public library in Malolos, Bulacan which is currently  underway.  The undertaking is made possible with the cooperation of The Center for Art, New Ventures, and Sustainable Development. This year’s proceeds shall be donated to the restoration project of the centuries-old Malate Church.  In recent years, large cracks have been appearing in the cement plaster of the exterior walls of the church. The exhibition title is “So Be It” (Siya Nawa) which is the simplest translation of ‘Amen.’ This will be held on March 22 to April 9 at the Art Center of Megamall in Mandaluyong City. The exhibition is presented by Artery Manila in cooperation with Gallery Nine. For inquiries you may call 9108016 or 7882112 or email them at kristomanila@yahoo.com.
